MIDGET/16 - README.1ST
===================
Midget is a simple yet capable calculator, intended as a civilized
replacement for the calculator included with Windows.
This is the 16-bit version, programmed for Windows 3.1. It will
also run under Windows 95 or NT, although you may then prefer
MIDGET/32, the native 32-bit version.
Midget is copyright ⌐ 1996 by J. Andrzej Wrotniak. The program is
marketed as shareware: you are granted a trial license to use it
for 30 days. After this time you have a choice between registering
the program (purchasing a permanent license, $10) or removing it
from your system. Details can be found in the Help file.
CompuServe members can register on-line (GO SWREG).
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
Any computer capable of running Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 will
do. A color VGA or SVGA monitor is required. A mouse is supported
but not really necessary.
The program files need about 500k of disk space.
INSTALLATION
Create a new directory (any name, anywhere), copy all Midget
files to it. Done.
The program does not require any files not supplied in the
distribution archive (except, of course, the standard parts of
the Windows system). It does not create or modify any files
outside of its own directory.
DEINSTALLATION
Delete the Midget directory with all the files inside it.
PACKING LIST
The distribution archive contains nine files:
MIDGET.EXE - the program file
MIDGET.HLP - the help file
MIDG_DON.WAV -
MIDG_ERR.WAV - two sound files
KALKULP.FON -
KALKULT.FON - two screen font files
README.1ST - the file you are reading now
FILE_ID.DIZ - a brief program description in a standard format
VENDINFO.DIZ - info for shareware vendors and BBS operators
The last three files are not necessary for the program operation
and can be safely deleted after reading. The sound files also
can be deleted if you do not care for sound effects in the
program. Do NOT try to delete or replace the font files!
Upon registration one more file will be included on your disk
or sent to you via email:
MIDGET.KEY - your personal registration key file, recognized by
program updates; this is the file you are not supposed to
distribute under terms of the license.
